low pay, limited schedule time if taking a lot of classes, repetitive/monotonous work

Pros

Easy access around campus and good for quick experience but not many opportunities for growth outside being a student employee. However, management positions do open and they do consider former student employees.

Cons

No benefits as a student employees. Career employees get paid more than students for doing the same job which is completely unfair.

-Well known educational institution; -Access to interesting classes, cultural events, and athletics; -Tons of professional development courses; -Discount on tuition/extension courses -Access to one of the best hospitals in the nation; and, -Generous benefits package

Cons

-It takes an insane amount of time to get something done. From the conception of an idea to completion, it can take months! -Threats of furloughs and salary reductions has resulted in low morale; -Rigidity in some departments in offering telecommuniting as a work option; -Parking is expensive (factor the cost in when negotiating salary); -Reduced opportunities for real career advancement; -Ineffiencient use of time -Provide 360 degree employee evaluations every six months
