+Jobs are relatively stable unless you get a contract position +Great health benefits, 403B retirement savings plan +Discount to UCLA Extension classes +Access to university staff workout program +Discount to John Wooden gym +Staff development opportunities +Pension possible depending on years of service

Cons

-There is little room for upper mobility depending on department -Pay may be low -There is a lot of bureaucratic tape to get simple things done -Incoming employees are subject to lower benefit packages for retirement

The benefits are great, hard to find comparable benefits from other companies. The people are great to work with, very friendly. you get experience communicating with people from different levels of the organization

Cons

didn't get exposure to other areas of my career interest. jobs were very specific to each person

Pros

It was great having the opportunity to work with top-notch researchers at such an established institution. I also appreciated the flexible schedule, ability to take courses, and the close proximity of the gym :).

Cons

The location - most of us didn't live near Westwood and the cost of parking a car on campus was extremely expensive. (However there are some good bus lines). The salary was also lower than what you'd expect for doing the same job elsewhere, but it was enough for me.
