Pros

great connections in the medical field and many programs offered

Cons

sometimes a large community such as UCLA makes it harder for you to stand out as an individual. But you can always work around that.

Pros

It's a world renown college campus with powerhouse athletics, a Level I trauma center and hub for a regional health system. Needless to say something interesting is always happening somewhere.

Cons

You are a number in a massive bureaucracy. Plus you have to deal with the comings and goings of 65,000 staff, students, and visitors jamming Westwood on a daily basis.

Pros

UCLA campus is beautiful. There are good facilities for exercise and opportunities for extracurricular activities. The workload combined with courses is reasonable for most graduate students.

Cons

You are on your own with research. Professors are too busy and outdated to help you. They are generally spending time on fancy presentations instead of original research. Most of them are not open to new ideas either. If you want to get a sense of how they are, just imagine that I know many Full Professors at UCLA who does not know how to check their email. Yeah... It's unbelievable.
