Pros

Great Benefits as a part of the UC system. Great people.

Cons

Horrible pay. Don't expect raises beyond the cost of living adjustment. With the good people also come the bad ones. The ones that make you think how have they kept their job the past few years. The ones that in any normal private corporation they would have been immediately let go after the first 6-12 months. They are the ones who put the drag team morale. The only way to move up is to keep jumping department ships which is bad in general for UCLA

Pros

Job security is the only pro.

Cons

SAIT (Student Affairs IT) has no standards. This is a small department (specific to application development team). This department has 2 decision makers (specific to application development) who couldn’t care less about the department or its services. The business analyst mangers have no clue how to manage projects or employees. They change internal processes every 2 months causing high frustration among employees.

Pros

Super friendly place, great support from my team, a smattering of excellent people, easy to find pain points that can be tackled, stable as it gets

Cons

Slow moving, the best talent leaves, the mediocre/poor talent can't be removed, not much socialization between/amongst teams, mercurial management
