Pros

The people who work at UCLA are very dedicated, driven, passionate and caring. They believe in what they're doing and the impact they're having on students, and care deeply about it. It's awesome to work someone with the clout, resources and name recognition. There is a ton of mentorship and opportunity for advancement here.

Cons

The policies can be very bureaucratic, and sometimes the rules and restrictions are hard to navigate around. You also aren't given a parking pass unless you have a certain employment status, and even then you have to pay for it.

Pros

Good benefits, some job security depending on source of funding. Free training and fitness programs for employees.

Cons

Very high skill expectations but low pay compared to external market. Seems you are expected to do the job of 3 people for the price of 1. Good job security for high level staff makes them unwilling to learn new things.
