Pros

Working with students. Having job security. Prioritizing safety during the pandemic. Everyone really does care about students and families.

Cons

Job instability. Potential to be moved to multiple different locations with little to no say in the matter. High and unrealistic expectations for teachers. Work overload which leads to burnout and issues with teacher retention.

Pros

worked at a school in TPS for 2 years. While working there, it was encouraging to see how much the district is attempting to increase transparency and education outcomes for students.

Cons

However, the lack of resources and assistance in the classrooms makes these expectations unrealistic, overburdening teachers in the process. Until both teacher compensation and school funding is increased, these issues will continue to persist.
