Pros

decent pay, good benefits, stable job, interesting industry

Cons

"walmart of the translation industry" long hours, sales people within the company can be unreasonable and terrible to work with, its as if the sales people in the company work against the production team its as if there is no camaraderie. the training is OK at best. the pool of linguists is good however in the majority of circumstances its not up to the clients standard. i would walk in to the office and received thousands of emails every morning and have to sort through them, the majority of them would be from needy or crazy linguists, crazy sales people, and unreasonable managers.

Pros

People in the team are really nice and friendly - try to help each other and bondage is strong.

Cons

It doesn't appreciate the employee's effort. Working hours are really long and the deadlines are very tight, yet expect to have perfect documents. All the quality issues or mistakes go under project coordinator, which even extends the working hour without any compensation about it. Even if a lot of effort has been put into the work, it's not really recognized.

Pros

Some colleagues are nice. Apart from that, nothing else.

Cons

Where to start... This job is the worst job I have ever had. The salary is ridiculously low and the work hours extremely long. Some days I worked till 11pm just to keep the sales people in the States happy. Needless to say, I came home crying and exhausted. I sometimes started crying at work because of all the pressure. However, the management doesn't care about this, all they care about is to keep the clients happy and make some more money. During the 6 months I have worked at Transperfect, I have managed to take one break on top of my lunch break. You have to be at your desk the whole day and sometimes can't even go to the toilet because there is so much to do. There are no perks in this company, all you get for free is coffee and tea. The office looks dull and is so quiet it is unreal. If you do your job well, you get a mention in the company's monthly 'newsletter'. For this, they give you a wooden block. Seriously, what kind of company does this? At least give some bonuses or something for doing well, not some toys you don't even know what to do with. This job has ruined my whole personal life. I'm anxious, can't sleep and am absolutely exhausted. It has gotten me to a point where I believe I'm heading towards a burn out. Does the company care about this? Of course not, they just hire the next person who is completely unaware of this modern sweatshop. My only advice is to stay away. You rather be unemployed than having to go through a burn out.
