Pros

SOME of the people; not management are great!

Cons

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! The company is built on controlling you and every little aspect of your work life. Management are terrible! The company is soo cheap all the after work activities are cheap! Our Christmas party was cheap and horrible as employees we deserve a lot more when we put in work. The staff micromanage you and control all your work so you have no choice or freedom to do things your way/ efficiently. we are severely underpaid and worked like dogs with next to no reward! I am trying to save the next victim from such horrible working environments I am happy to be gone from this hell hole

Pros

- Chances to engage in big project - Various fields / type of documents to widen your specialty

Cons

- Deadline is often too tight: Some projects were flexible depending on how you negotiate with PMs, but my impression is that the initial setting of deadline is only profit-oriented and not considering the actual time required for translators to deliver their work in satisfying quality. - Some PMs are inadequate in communication: Due to time difference, sometimes I needed to correspond with several PMs during night time who had no idea of what's going on and general knowledge of the projects. I felt there is not enough communication amongst Transperfect PMs as I had to explain the same thing over and over again. - Some PMs are lacking knowledge on translation process/ translator's needs: In some projects, there were massive number of random files, which didn't show any co-relation inbetween. As a result, I spent large amount of time on figuring out which text is where in the document. This time loss could've been saved if PMs had checked the actual files and confirm with the clients first to get the files translation-ready. In terms of rating and deadline setting, I feel language combinations and complexity of text are not taken into consideration.
