Pros

only pro here is paid benefits

Cons

absolutely no room for growth. most jobs are not even posted, people just "show up" and they are full time hires. No incentive for merit, those with advanced education and exceptional experience are not valued. No support for management ineptitude from HR is available.

Pros

Get paid to poop. Get paid at the end of the week. Just get the paycheck and leave.

Cons

The 'continuous improvement' program (Kaizen) encourages workers to submit ideas to improve costs, safety, environment etc. and get paid for it. Since people want to get a little extra cash, the submissions are mostly nonsense that start locking people into a certain lifestyle they created themselves -- such as lining up specific chairs with table sides to improve organization. The environment becomes micromanaged based on the most mundane tasks. Speaking of micromanagement, this place is the definition. The environment is extremely stressful, degrading to morale (no morale exists at the company) and no place to advance in your career (actually will take you a step back with knowledge). The pay in the office is set to absolute minimum. All risk, no reward system. I worked for Maple Automotive (division of Toyota Tsusho -- located next door).

Pros

They consistently have coffee, tea, hot cocoa, etc. Also, they shut down from the week of Christmas until New Year's Day... with pay. There are many Japanese employees, and it was interesting to experience the business culture.

Cons

Absolutely everyone is miserable, all the time. The pay is low and the benefits are not impressive. They have a policy where people have to work through a temporary agency for 90 days. When you get hired on you still have to wait an additional 13 months before you receive vacation.
