Opportunity for growth is not extended to everyone.

Pros

For the industry pay is fairly competitive, annual bonus structure, flexible work schedules

Cons

No career growth unless you are viewed as "key staff". HR and management will only work to develop the careers of those who are favored. HR staff is full of younger people who are very immature and if they do not like you they will make you feel it. Management can treat their staff with disrespect and the Executives will back management no matter what. As the years have passed I have noticed the decline in moral and increase in resignations. I blame HR and management for how they set the tone for the office.

Pros

Overall, the company is very stable and offers decent compensation compared to other companies. Internal/lateral movement is encouraged and training is generally readily available. If you're nearing the end of your career and don't want any responsibilities, then this would be an excellent place to retire with minimal stress. The benefits are good (401(k) match, vacation, medical, etc.) but there wasn't an employee stock purchase option or even stock options.

Cons

Bonuses are highly contingent on how well/poorly the company (as a whole) does, so bonuses are almost nothing some years. Moving up from one job scale "band" to another is almost impossible after being hired, so ALWAYS negotiate for one level beyond whatever you're initially offered. Company tends to move and make decisions very slowly. Most decisions are made out of France and they look down upon Americans as 2nd class citizens, so there is little opportunity for creativity/innovation.
