Pros

- People focussed - Supportive leadership team across all departments - Engineering talent is rock solid and has engineering who have been around since Day-1 - Technology stack is modern and there are constant investments into making it better - Scaling and quality are major areas of focus

Cons

- Due to the massive growth a stronger emphasis needs to given to prioritization. - Unique or better ways to collaborate outside of the usual zoom/webex meetings - Townhall type all-hands sessions would be useful

Pros

Individual Contributors are great at helping others, and teaching others. The ability to self-manage your workload and contribute to something awesome is/was great. It's gotten a bit more challenging to do this with the acquisition, but the capability is still there. The events and people were always fun The CEO & CTO really care about the well being of the individuals, and it shows. Product is incredibly awesome, and really fun to work with. Tech stack is somewhat modern (there are some minor backend improvements that need to be made - and some have already been made). Post-acquisition 401K Matching is good. Made a lot of good memories and friendships that I hope to keep/continue post-job. I enjoyed my time here, and learned a substantial amount while working with everyone. I am incredibly grateful for that opportunity. From starting small to growing to the size that they are now (pre/during acquisition). I know I had an impact (whether for better or worse) and would love to work with some of these individuals again.

Cons

Pay was not "competitive"ly great prior to acquisition, pay will get much more difficult post-acquisition due to being under a larger company Health benefits prior to acquisition were awesome (free healthcare), post-acquisition - have to pay ~$25 - for health care options Lack of transparency from upper management (direct management all the way up to executive team). Actions are greater than words, follow through on your actions, don't just mention or say something, but commit to it. Personally, I was firmly not able to get a transfer into the team that I wanted to work on, after asking for three years. Lack of proper management support, especially in the IT Department, for 5 years, was a bummer. Huge bummer. While I enjoyed my time here, I faced hurdle after hurdle in situations (to the point that I was having to champion myself more and more - and wasn't being supported by a management leader for improvements that were needed) and when leaving it felt like I was more or less just shuffled out the door versus working with me to set up a transition plan that would work for the business and the company to be successful worked out. I didn't have much (if any) communication with upper management rather than just providing ways to improve to them about significant issues that have happened. Beyond that, the discussion that I had when leaving was "Yeah we are hearing that a lot".

Pros

ThousandEyes is one of the best companies I have worked in. My experience here is pretty much a 5/5, but there is room for improvement, which should be reflected in the review. Let's go through the pros: - The people: You are working with a really talented group of engineers. There is always someone with the answer to what you are looking for. Pretty much everyone in the company is nice and willing to help but, like everywhere else, some people could work on their soft skills a little bit more. - Learning opportunities: It's easy to learn something new if you push for it. There are a lot of challenges in ThousandEyes trying to be solved, especially around scalability. - The product: You are working on a product with many users, so you can see the impact of your changes and the feedback from customers. You will also learn a lot about networks, no matter the team you are in. - The culture: There are events going on all the time: All Hands, Hackdays, team activities... - Your wellbeing: Some of the managers and the big leads care about you and your wellbeing and there are resources for whatever you need. They are also quite flexible with your needs, and always open to help. - Transparency-ish: In general terms, the company is transparent. Leads answer the most controversial questions in the All Hands and always encourage to reach them out to help them make things better.

Cons

- Some of the managers: It depends on the team. You can be lucky and work with some of the best managers you have ever worked with, our you can end up in a team with managers that (seriously) need to do better. Some of them have the experience to be managers, but not the soft skills needed for the role. If they get better at this, the employee experience would be way better. - Priorities: Priorities are some days clear and some days not. It's a fast-paced company, and there are a lot of things going on inside (Cisco's acquisition, new big customers, new features to release, customers-specific requirements...). Trying to keep all of this up is hard, and it has an impact when defining the priorities because things are constantly changing. This is a big problem in the work-life balance and it also demotivates people seeing how some of the projects they were committed to never end. - The "ish" in Transparency: Some of the biggest decisions made by the company were not shared as they should have had. The CEO addressed this problem later on and that was greatly appreciated. These cons are the main reason why this company is good but can be better. I would say the rating could be a 4/5, but the company is open to feedback and changes, and hopefully willing to deal with these problems.
