Pros

People are friendly and uniform shirts are provided at no cost to you. Lunch is an hour if you work 7+ hour shifts.

Cons

Standing on your feet for long hours. And a misrepresentation of the job title, I was hired as a visual sales associate and was very good at both selling and register, however, I had to part ways with this company because they were much more concerned with my experience during Truck Days. Truck Days are labor intensive days where you are often squatting, going up and down ladders and opening boxes with box cutters to place and arrange product on the shelves. I got the complaint that I didn't "sweat enough," and if I wasn't sweating by the time I was done, I wasn't doing it right. I felt like management got tunnel vision with me and couldn't see my other positive attributes.

Pros

good starting pay, nice people to work with, enjoyed the physical activity over a desk job, appreciated the kronos app to request days/time off in advance or view schedule, positive reinforcement for jobs well done,

Cons

employee and management turnover, not enough people on the floor for support or to take breaks, required to clean bathrooms which could sometimes be disgusting, no pay raise opportunity while I was there, too much pressure to sign up customers in their pop perks program, as all retail establishments there is pressure to sell, no ability for full time hours so almost everyone there has 2 jobs

Pros

Fellow employees are great and the customers are usually really great and happy to accept help. The products (organization items and services) genuinely are things that help the customer save time and feel less stressed which makes working in sales feel more like helping people than selling to them.

Cons

Going public has changed the focus of The Container Store from employee first to looking good on paper. While it's generally still a fun place to work, it's not quite what it used to be.
