Still The Retailer of Choice and The Best Company to Work for In America

Pros

The Container Store remains a people driven company in every way.There have been no lay offs or huge terminations of the Full-Time or Part-time staff. We have seen salary freezes and no employer match for the 401k but this was to save jobs in an effort to keep great people working.

Cons

The Company believes it will always beat the odds with the best employees working for the company. This is the first time in the history of the company where there may be more employees having trouble understanding the logic of how the company is navagating thru some of the world events.

Pros

Great on the job training, good health insurance, open communication is encouraged, good pay compared to the average retailer (but then you're expected to do a lot more than your average retailer)

Cons

The managers can be a little un-understanding, like when you need time off for work due to personal issues (sickness, pregnancy, etc.). The full-time employees seem to be favored over the part-time, or prime time-as TCS would like to call it.

Pros

The discount!! Flexible scheduling around my personal life. I enjoy what I do there. Amazing products and great selection!

Cons

Management does not give enough feedback throughout the year as to how you are doing. Can be surprising to find out information in your yearly review. Would be better if people were scheduled based on their contributions to the store. Not everyone has the same expectations and those who don't contribute their fair share should not be given premium hours. There is a lack of consistency and leadership among the full time team.
