Pros

I stayed there as long as I did because I needed decent insurance. The insurance was the only pro.

Cons

Extreme micromanagement, and the shareholders were respected and valued much more than employees. Managers would say one thing in a private meeting and then the opposite when others were around.

My store really has a family atmosphere... not just some HR spiel about 'family', but we really are a group of friends and we support each other and care about each other's well-being. Higher average age than a normal retail location with people who really believe in what we are doing and a management team that is 'in it' with us... we all support each other, and that makes it a rewarding experience, such a rarity in retail. The schedule is done three weeks out, so you are able to plan. The request of availability/unavailability is automated, so you can put the requests in when you think of them vs having to wait and speak to someone. Very flexible schedule at my location.

Cons

It's busy and you have to be able to jump in when and where needed. You become multi-talented and everyone supports each other.
