      Wasted opportunity by senior management to be the dominant supplier in railway signalling.

      Pros

      1) Salary is good relative to other technology companies in the Toronto area. 2) The work is interesting if you like trains. 3) Some very good middle managers.

      Cons

      1) The senior management is completely incompetent. Thales has probably the best communications based train control system in the world and could be the dominant company in the field however the senior management have failed to exploit the opportunity. 2) Current office location at 401 and Don Valley makes for a nightmare commute. 3) Senior management enjoy looking for a scapegoat amongst the employees to blame for the companies ills. 4) Company claims that in Thales "people are first", this is a lie.

      Pros

      Early responsibility, graduate scheme accredited by the IET, well run company with good opportunity for job mobility, goo opportunity to make contacts across a global business.

      Cons

      Pay for new starters has increased from what last year started on and that pay won't rise to match that. Therefore last years starters will be earning less than people they are expected to mentor. HR haven't got a clue and don't understand their staff.

      Supportive environment and all people to explore new things. Knowledge sharing is always there. People ready to help. Relaxed environment

      Cons

      Lack in management within the teams. Too long processes to get an approval for a specific task. Less resources for knowledge sharing.
