Global exposure and expertise, but slow advancement and bureaucracy

Business Outlook

Pros

The company operates at genuine global scale, giving you real exposure to complex, high-stakes operations across multiple geographies from early in your career. Colleagues, particularly in technical functions, bring a depth of expertise that is genuinely hard to find elsewhere. Structured development programmes are well-resourced and the internal processes are mature, so you spend less time reinventing the wheel. The brand carries serious weight in industrials, energy, and global supply chain, and it opens doors long after you leave.

Cons

Bureaucracy is the default operating mode and it slows everything down, from routine decisions to career progression. Advancement is driven more by tenure than by performance, which is a real problem if you are ambitious and want to move quickly. The business is heavily exposed to commodity cycles and a narrow customer base, so internal performance can suffer for reasons entirely outside your control. Functional siloes are deeply entrenched, limiting your cross-functional visibility unless you actively fight for it.
