Pros

They forgot about assigning work to me for almost 4 months. At that time, I just reentered job market after 2 yrs of sabbatical, and really needed to get some serious work going. It was nerve wreaking. So you get your paycheck during this period of time, until they take actions (or you take actions), which I think there's some resource management issues on-going. Not sure if this is a pro.

Cons

Treated like kids and some work just don't make any sense. I was formerly from MNCs, for first time, I was treated like a kid, and no respected. And they don't seem to respect core expertise in each person, because they won't hessitate to slot you in any role conveniently, and it's hard to say no unless you call it quit. The control is overkill to the extent I find it stupid. This is making people stupid followers. I'm a bad follower, this type of organisation is definitely not for me, and the folks I worked with, were barely competent on their role. I thought TCS is a big MNC, but I was not prepared for all these.

Pros

- Good benefits. - Good Salary. - Hires entry-level candidates. - Offers training with paid salary. - vacation days. - matching 401k

Cons

- Once the training is finished you'll be idle till a project is assigned to you. It may take 6 months to year or two. That period is called "bench". You won't gain any experience in that period although you'll get paid. - Once you're on Bench, you'll be ignored as they only treat you as an entry-level local hire.(since they have to hire a set of local people every year as per the laws, so you're one) - Poor communication. No one replies to emails, calls will be unanswered/ transferred. - Once in project, you'll be treated unfairly. Lot of internal politics. And changing projects means relocation. You'll feel unwanted. - They'll ask you to relocate even though there are projects available at your location. - Friendly environment is rare. - After 2 years, you'll realize you're resume is still empty. You're confidence is low. - Zero work life balance. Expect work on weekends and midnight calls. Since the company is India based, time zone makes life horrible.
