Pros

Target still has one of the best brand images in the country and in regards to marketing, retail strategy and private label development it is well deserved. The ideals Target espouses for its team members are good, even inspiring including valuing diversity, maintaining work/life balance and paying for performance. HR takes an active role in development. Talent management is proactive and frequent.

Cons

The good ideals listed above are completely overcome by an unfortunate focus on "collaboration" which is really a euphemism for endless meetings and decision paralysis. Employees hired for their leadership are not permitted to lead and those hired because of their accomplishments are not measured by results. Instead, careers are made and broken solely on the basis of perception management. If you want to be rewarded based on your results then you will be frustrated at Target. Target is also a decade behind on things like software development and project management practices and appears incapable of catching up. So if you're an IT professional coming from a consulting firm, be prepared to do waterfall development and manage your projects with outdated tools.

Pros

Most of the customers have shifted to online shopping and not coming to stores and the future looks bad for Target. There will be 500 strength reduction planned in workforce at Bangalore office. Target has hired agencies which post positive reviews so this review may get buried under those positive reviews. But I am playing my role by making everyone know the reality.

Cons

Target has started asking people to quit in many teams. There is confirmed report that around 500+ people will be asked to go in the first wave. Future looks very bad as after the initial rush people have stopped coming to stores now and all are staying safe and doing online shopping. There will be many more teams which will be shut completely.

Pros

Decent compensation, flexible work schedule and good work-life balance

Cons

If you are a techie fresh out of college, do yourself a favor and do not work for retail companies like Target.. Everyone here is an architect and has little to no knowledge about technology.. You will be constantly bombarded with meaningless meetings whose outcome is usually nothing productive and most of your work will be outsourced to some company in India or Uruguay.. The work culture here is very bad. Most of the days I used to be the lone team member working. Everyone else would take a holiday at the pretext of WFH. If you are from a prestigious college with a great technical background, do not consider Target as your workplace option..
