Target is a phenomenal place to work because of the industry the career opportunities and the talented coworkers.
Pros
The people and culture are very positive, social, and collaborative. Its great to work in the retail industry and work for a company that people love and respect and which provides such a great value to the average consumer. There is the ability to move around within the company and have multiple types of jobs if that is what you want.
Cons
The organization is incredibly meeting focused so it can sometimes be difficult to move things quickly or autonomously. Not all parts of the organization have a well defined career path so you have to be able to make it happen for yourself in many parts of the company. Although meritocracy is important to the company the way promotions are determined are also based on a role being available so you can be "ready" but not promoted until something opens up which can be frustrating at times.
