Pros

You have all the growth potential in the world when working with Target. People with a lot of potential are given room to grow and people who drive results are rewarded for their performance.

Cons

Work-Life balance can be difficult to maintain at times. Like with other retail jobs, the job does not stop when you leave for the day. Things continously happen that require follow-up making your workload unpredictable at best.

Pros

Good first job. Great place to start working and gain work experience. I liked working there very much. Trained for other positions and gained more hours that way.

Cons

A new manager came in that thought she was all that and cut my hours from 35 hours a week to 10 hours. When you have bills that means a lot. She was complained about non stop but nothing was ever done. A week after I quit and said I wasn't putting up with her anymore they fired her.

Target could work for you

Pros

Flexible hours if you need them. Can accrue vacation time, become eligible for a pretty good benefits package, and make a decent salary (even in the humblest position) if you hang in there through good times and bad.

Cons

Emphasis on a college degree as the single most important criteria for a management position. Many recent grads don't have the job experience or people skills required for leadership roles; these experiences and skills can't be taught in a classroom. In the end, most employees are dead ended or plateaued in their positions.
