Pros

Exposure - Everyone knows Target. Opportunity For Training - If you want to cross train, they will usually do it if your a good worker. Decent pay when you get to Management. Good atmosphere - Everyone is usually pretty nice to each other. Management Positions are very high class and well respected.

Cons

Suggestion Box Useless - Management is going to do it their way 100% of the time. Chat Sessions - Useless unless Management is serious about fixing Team issues. Communication - Super important. Great at some stores, falls short at others. Doing what you are told and being exceptional does not mean promotion, at least not recently. Politics - Too much stress on what to say or do where instead of just getting the job done.

Pros

As a retailer, Target is on target. I was very impressed with management and processes on the pure retail side of the company. The benefit package is truly one of the best in retail, including a decent match on the 401K, a EDCP, and a pension plan. Plenty of tech help. Lunch break!!!!

Cons

Complete lack of understanding of the profession of pharmacy due to non-pharmacy district and regional supervisors. Extreme micro-management, with many unnecessary processes to do the simplest task. (Your generous tech help is tied up in adm. process--not patient service) Salary is low versus what you will be asked to do. (42+ hour weeks) Raises and bonuses based on non-business indicators. Lack of professional respect/understanding by other members of management, with no system in place for recourse in a disagreement.

Pros

*An opportunity to make a real difference in the lives and working conditions of the store's team *Frequent opportunities to enhance Target's image and reputation within the local community, while reaching out to schools, social service organizations, parks and the like

Cons

*When a new CEO, regional VP, DTL and STL all arrive within months of one another, watch out for house-cleaning much like when a new administration occupies the White House. Allegiances and loyalties disappear, along with your long streak of O review scores *Smacking of age discrimination (given Target has more lawyers on retainer than any of us could afford to hire), execs throughout my district--over the age of 40--began to disappear this past year, involuntarily. I quit, after eight years as a dedicated executive, before I would give them the satisfaction of terming me based upon the most ludicrous assortment of trumped-up frivolousness you've ever read
