Pros

The compensation and benefits are amazing. Also, if you want to really develop yourself into a higher position you have endless resources and people at your feet willing to help you.

Cons

There is no work life balance - People at Target tell you that they're all about work life balance, but in reality it's all B.S. You're required to work a minimum of 10 hours a day (which is common to do more) and you don't receive overtime

Pros

Pay was pretty good. Everyday team members can be very nice and a lot of help to you when needed.

Cons

Crazy hours. Will work till 12 some nights then be back at 5 the next morning. Working over night but really won't learn anything from it. Management could care less if they had you or not. Actually they wish they didn't have an intern because it makes more work for them. Its retail so its crazy.

Pros

Target really cares about your leadership development. They go the extra mile to make sure that you are on the right path for your career goals. They encourage feedback whether coming up the command or down, and recognition is an important part of their culture. They really try to have fun at work.

Cons

It's a retail setting, so it gets pretty crazy on a daily basis. Rarely did we have a 'slow' day. It might start off that way, but it would always pick up and get messy in the store. Once the store is falling behind, its up to the later crews to pick up the slack, and this often results in them staying late. Definitely better to open than to close. It can be annoying to work with crabby customers.
