Pros

I had a great time working in my own zone as well as getting to help other coworkers in their zones every shift. It gave me the feeling of personal responsibility, but I did not have to work only by myself either. I was able to learn many things about retail, and about different work areas inside target.

Cons

They did not always keep track of who had a break and who did not. This even happened when i was a cashier and a minor at the time!

Pros

The GL team is great. Intelligent, hardworking individuals who want to move the company and building forward. Can sometimes get too caught up in the political drama that is VERY prevalent.

Cons

Senior management seems to only be interested in doing the least amount of work it takes to get themselves promoted. There is no leadership vision amongst the senior team and its created mixed messages and departments that think about themselves first as opposed to the fluid operations of the building. Compensation is okay at best. Recent increases and bonuses were insulting based on performance of our building.

Pros

Salary and before the change a very lucrative bonus structure. The friends and relationships that you develop with people working tirelessly together to meet completely unreasonable expectations from DMs and GVPs who forgot what it was like to work in a store.

Cons

Work life balance, recognition, job security, overall fairness in assessing each individual. Target does not seem to believe in supporting and to developing its top talent, rather it focuses on the "bottom 10%" and how to get rid of them, bring in new people and pushing existing people into the "bottom 10%" and getting rid of them. Target gives you a big fat salary and continually keeps you in suspense as to whether you will be employed with them in the future regardless of your perfromance.
