-Receiving department requests and demands are bottom priority for management
-receiving department neglected and/or treated poorly by other departments
-bad work/life balance (no holidays off)
-constantly being pulled to do other things so you have no time to do your main job
The company seems to truly care about their employees (team members) and the opportunities that you are given in the company if you work hard and show ambition are pretty endless. They like to promote from within and the "team" really does come before all else. Not to take away from the individual, as they seem to remember that to keep the team running smoothly, the individual needs to feel taken care of.
Cons
If the district manager (DTL) isn't the best, team members and leadership both definitely suffer. The policies in place have too many loopholes and unless the actual people care a lot, communication from the top down can really suffer.
Working as a receiver I got to build relationships with vendors and have my own little section of the warehouse to myself.
If you catch the right promotion you can get regular hours with most weekends off, which is pretty rare in a retail position.
Cons
- Low Pay
- Low Raises
- Too many managers
- No educational incentives for nonexempt employees.
- Just the regular retail problems
