Pros

Provides diverse work experiences, fast-paced, exciting work, talented resources. Offers good work/life balance.

Cons

Playing catch-up on continuing to be relevant to the customer is a constant struggle in the culture with the changing retail landscape, Target was slow to react to consumer demands on omni-channel experiences and it takes a really long time to get anything done. Lack of opportunities for career advancement, you need a de-coder ring to figure out the politics. It is not enough to perform well with a proven track record of successes to advance, it is about who likes you.

Pros

Good opportunities for young professionals that like occasional change in domain and/or role. Strong emphasis on talent development, all leaders are measured by it so its not just lip service.

Cons

Consensus driven culture cause decisions to take to long. Too much socialization and sharing of what you are doing with peers that does not really add value. Process prevails too often over common sense and the benefit of getting things done and cutting through the red tape.

Pros

Smart, ambitious people - generally Looks great on a resume - cache Most diverse (ethnically) employer in downtown Minneapolis Good cafe

Cons

Hypocrisy. The political games and ability to get ahead via denigration of others is on a level I've not seen at any of the Fortune 100 companies I've worked with. Poor benefits. Amazingly poor communication and development opportunities.
