Pros

-Free Food (in lieu of a competitive market salary) -Work/Life Balance -Outstanding People and Product

Cons

-"Tech-Bro" Culture is cultivated by senior management that doesn't listen to diversity concerns from their employees. -Software Developers are treated like "data rockstars" while Support Engineers get treated like crap (in both pay and representation in the company) -Becoming a lot like Amazon (in both tyrannical business leadership [who are all Amazon rejects] and lack of morals) -You can make more money as a forklift driver in comparison to some of their engineering positions.

Pros

Great software. Good presales. Good stockprice. Good salary. Great education/bootcamp programme.

Cons

If you want to be micromanaged by incompetent mid management and you enjoy internal politics, then this could be a great place for you. Most employees are working in telesales type roles and therefore there is prevailing clock watching culture. At lunch, or during breaks, colleagues are constantly nervous about staying out too long as they need to be back at their desks. This culture is also spreading into more senior positions. Not a good place for a work/life balance. Your territory will determine if you are successful or not. You might get most of South Europe or the whole of Russia, or you might get a few boroughs of London. Tableau are hiring quickly, which means sales territories constantly shrink.

Pros

Innovative company that had a great reputation while they were in there hay day before they had challenges meeting revenue goals. Some departments are still unaffected by poor management so there are opportunities to thrive. Perks can be good but have dwindled to almost nothing and certainly no longer compete with other companies of similar nature. Really Good health benefits.

Cons

The turnover that has happened in the last 20 months has brought the entire marketing division to their knees. The old school management that has been there since the beginning has no vision for taking the company from a start up to a more mature company and continues to add more and more work to team members plates with no room for new ideas and frankly seems to live by the mentality of, doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results. The work load is beyond anything you would expect and you are constantly spinning your wheels on projects that haven’t been vetted and grasping for any real direction, information on how certain strategic initiatives measure back to company priorities, etc. The environment use to be fun, impactful and vibrant however now it’s just a lot of overworked people looking for other opportunities which with all the turnover due to diminished moral just makes for more work. The attempt to rally employees with food and booze no longer works in this toxic environment.
