Pros

Good as entry level, do one year and get out! Flexible working hours but only based on seniority. All stars program is good if you make your stats. Yearly increments are more than most companies.

Cons

To many politics, suck up and get progression Book vacation a year in advance! Emergencies are not accommodated Incompetent and non deserving team leaders Feels like you are back in elementary school. Micro management.

Pros

Good pay, can win a trip......thats about it. Used to have great benefits. The bank had taken them all.

Cons

Management is outrageous. They hire the person who has their head shoved the farthest up managements butts. This company works on favoritism and turning you into a robot. Coaching is a joke. The management team is completely disconnected from reality, yet scared to speak up because if you do you will be black listed and never move anywhere. No opportunity at all for growth. The bank rejects applicants from the insurance side yet we are ok to take employees from the bank. They would rather hire inexperienced people to fill positions then hire extremely talented people from within. If you are a top performer you will be degraded and scrutinized so harshly it's not worth trying to over achieve. Nothing you ever do will be good enough. They ask for your opinion and then are again black listed for saying it. They want robots with no personality who will kiss up. Anyone that was a great manager or advisor has left the company now and it's filled with washed up useless managers who do nothing but snitch on you for anything. If you speak in confidence to a manager they will turn around and run to the upper management. Not to mention the actual job is insane. They expect the world from you but will always tell you you're not good enough. Save your time and effort and sanity....do not work here.

Pros

There were plenty of good jobs at TD but under current conditions these positions have changed greatly and there are less and less good jobs to be had at the bank. They want everyone to be cogs in a machine and do not encourage free thinking and progress.

Cons

When it comes down to it: Your work and effort mean nothing to this organization. After 15yrs of being a computer programmer and doing anything I could for this bank I was laid off in favor of foreign workers. I was called redundant but they made us stick around to train our replacements who were not yet hired. That is the care you can expect from TD. Its not because these workers are better or more committed (they were not by any measure). This was done solely out of greed; so that TD can announce a bigger profit without actually doing more business or making improvements in their systems. Outsourcing thought, business process, IT, and call center workers while cutting frontline staff and expanding business hours, etc just does not jive with bragging about being the better bank and caring about communities and staff. The ads are complete fiction and just about any job (except VP) is treated with contempt.
