Pros

Work-life balance is quite good. Relaxed and casual culture clearly prevails. Employees are generally treated in a nice and fair way and relationships between empoyees and the company is often with a long term focus. There are a large number of talented employees with strong expertise in their industry.

Cons

Senior management is consistently underperforming. The organisation is excessively inward focused and constantly reorganizing. Sometimes lack of dynamism can be felt.

Pros

It's a great company to work for when it comes to compensation and benefits. The management direction at this time due to senior management turn over so only time will tell how thiongs will turn out. If the company starts making decent profits again then it will continue to be a great place to work. There is a move to reduce head count at this time.

Cons

The company is reducing head count so it's very stressfull right now. The management structure is primarily based in Zurich and it seems they are not really in touch with their US based employees. It's sometimes very difficult to get things done with no local decision making authority.

Pros

Company had/has a great reputation in Switzerland. The benefits are very good and the salary levels are on par with peers. Work/life balance is good and is a relatively low pressure working environment. Great knowledge within the company.

Cons

Company is constantly re-organizing and the culture is very political making it very difficult to get things done. Networks are very important for promotion which can help or hinder progress. Academic thought processes and the political environment can seriously hinder decision making resulting in a slow changing environment
