Work life balance, smart nice people, salary and perks, interesting topics, supports good causes, potential to be a great place
Cons
Weak leadership capabilities, fear of decisions, bureaucracy, no development opportunities, no alignment of goals and between teams, initiative gets consistently stifled
In my 6.5 years experience with Swiss Re I felt welcome, respected and received lots of freedom of how I fulfil my role. I liked the culture of openness and the fact, that it is a custom to invite for lunch whoever you like, regardless of their position. Over those years I had great discussions with managing directors and learned a lot.
Cons
Swiss Re is a corporation of a substantial size, and as such, it is not free from phenomena, that after some time hierarchical structures of power serve mostly themselves, not the overall good of the organisation.
