      Pros

      Overall, Swiss Re is a wonderful company. Great benefits, values and work-life balance.

      Cons

      The Business Services department within Corporate Solutions is lacking in the management area. A lot of the managers work from home, and these managers lack a proper education and management experience to be effective. Advancement within the Business Services department does not appear to be based on work production, but based on managers opinion of you.

      Pros

      Great compensation. Global organization with good opportunities for advancement in a number of roles. Investment in technology is seen as key for the success of the firm long term.

      Cons

      Weak senior executive leadership. Lack of true strategic vision for topics such as operations. Extremely Zurich centric - essentially if one is not based in Switzerland employees are treated like second class citizens.

      Standard benefits that you can find in other companies.

      Cons

      The difference in salary between a Manager and a direct report is huge and not proportional to the workload and responsibilities for a direct report . Ultimately there is a big number of managers and managers of managers who do not add value to the company and just generate expenses.
