Pros

The consultive sales technique is so much fun, you try to find the best solution for the customers needs. Everyone who worked at our store, wanted to be there, wanted to shop there, and was mature enough not to act like a teenager holding up the counter. and of course the discount rocks.

Cons

There was a corporate change, I believe some investers came in.. New people, new attitude. Our store went thru some pretty drastic changes very quickly with our own managment, and 3 new DM's. The lastest DM was obsessed with Loss Prevention. If employee theft was such an issue, why did ALL of our staff spend so much money shopping? The corporate attitiude became VERY rigid. Not fun anymore. Each store should be able to adjust to the local market, and let the manager run the store, not the DM.

Pros

Discount great. Lots of free coffee. Cooking classes. I have worked under two different store managers since the store opened, and the first one was erratic, irrational, and a megalomania who exerted her will on every single issue, but ended up being wrong on most of them. The new store manager can have an occasional moment of anger, but is actually extremely even keeled, fair, and actually seems to care. Be prepared for whoever your store manager or assistant managers are, because they can make a huge difference.

Cons

- lack of hours - last minute changes - lots of work without support
