Pros

Fun and fast paced environment for those with a passion for food. Customers for the most part really appreciate the inviting vibe in the store and respectfully look to the sales associates for sage advice. This together with 40% employee discount make one forget that its a minimum wage job.

Cons

Store management constantly taking about daily revenue targets vs other stores, YoY, etc., etc. without ever talking about how or why part time staff should care or otherwise be motivated to contribute to increased revenues. POS, employee reporting, supply chain all antiquated, disjointed systems. Without rhyme or reason, popular items can quickly go out of stock and take forever to restock while other, less popular items are immediately restocked.

Pros

-The team was absolutely spectacular. I loved every single person I worked with. -Truly had the company's support in providing A+ customer service and going above and beyond for customers. I've worked at companies that said their focus was the customer while training staff to lie to them in the same breath. -Huge learning opportunity. I learned more about cooking and cookware in the year I worked at SLT than any other time in my life. People are honestly passionate about hosting and cooking. We were taught to welcome customers into the store as if we were welcoming them into our home for a dinner party.

Cons

-I mean, it's retail. You're going to have nasty customers. Kill 'em with kindness -If you work stock, there's quite a bit of heavy lifting to get larger appliances into overstock. -You will very likely gain weight from all of the cooking motivation
