Pros

The management was kind and put in an effort to help me learn my way around. The hours were flexible, and pay was decent. The environment was generally welcoming.

Cons

Dealing with impatient customers was probably the worst part. While i was there, the store changed management, but it went smoothly enough.

Pros

The company was growing in 2007 before I left. The work was interesting and my co-workers were great people. Management seemed responsive to individual career paths, although your mileage may vary.

Cons

Anti-tea culture. Not really, but conservative tech culture despite some interesting projects. Never felt it was a place to make a long-term career.

Pros

If you are willing to put in the time and effort (mostly time), Starbucks is heavily commited to investing in their employee's careers. The people are also incredibly nice and helpful.

Cons

Almost impossible to get a foot in the door, heavily value experience over potential, culture does not reward excellence but loyalty. There is also a big divide between full-time employees and contract workers.
