Pros

-Over the time I've worked at Sbux I've met incredible people (Baristas, SM, ASM, etc.) -Their benefits are ok (good thing they cover dental and ocular though...) -They also have partner benefits (as in LGBT partner/spouse [which is amazing as it's one of the only companies that openly embraces its LGBT community.])

Cons

-They give promotions to the rather ignorant outsiders (that get paid way more.) I have seen truly deserving individuals not get promotions because of "poor" interviews (when in reality their work ethic and execution is rather EXCELLENT) -They work us like dogs, and when we are tired and don't smile, we get written up? This isn't automated service WE ARE HUMAN, WE GET TIRED, tell Schultz to work 8 hours on his feet (through morning rush with all the snobby/ rude/ impatient customers) instead of on his a** and then see the kind of smile he has when he's only had ONE 10 min break (we apparently DIDN'T need a second one, they figured they lost money, I figured they lost MILLIONS in customer satisfaction) and a 30 min meal break. -Truly expect "that customers are always right." No, people have come into our store and have basically violated our space (some guy literally threatens our staff) and Sbux still hasn't done their job to protect its employees. -They're trying to dismantle growing employee unions. (Someone's against better employee conditions/ wages...) -Oh, and the ultimate cons... They have a shady way of getting rid of people that earn too much. Over inspections they've cracked down on managers that earn too much by putting them on probation over little things. One store in my surrounding area needed one (I repeat, ONE) point to pass their inspections and they fixed everything in time for the check-up. The Store Manager got placed on probation (hint; they were due for a raise later on) and then during VIA (instant coffee) promotions in which stores would have a bonus over best sales, her store won. Her bonus was nixed. All her great work for nothing. -Lastly, that same manager which begun to care about their employees has been scolded plenty about "caring too much" and by caring I mean lending their employees an ear to talk to, or setting up a dinner for a valued employees departure, etc.
