Upper management is not good, they are completely disconnected from what the individual stores need in order to succed.

Pros

- Benefits are good - Hours are flexible - If you like your team, and management, the job is fun. - Busier shifts go buy faster

Cons

- Pay is okay, but not great, and they don’t do raises based on performance, rather than tenure. - You’re all paid the same, so some partners will slack and others work harder - Inconsistency in stores (like some stores will offer free waters, while others don’t) - There is definitely favoritism issues among shifts/management. If you’re not the favorite, you won’t get the positions you like and less likely to move up. - Some stores I worked at and a sort of atmosphere where they would be nice to certain people me faces, but then talk trash behind their back. It was kind of a downer

Pros

-The markout system -the coworkers

Cons

-the ceo keeps changing the mark out system -most of the perks and benefits are nice but extremely hard to get as a barista -they will not give you hours unless you are management - if you wish to transfer under a year into the job it’s impossible and you’ll lose your job especially if your manager is unaware of the transfer process - the customers will harass you even though you do everything the way Starbucks asks - I got in trouble for asking for a better work life balance after being forced to stay 2 hours after my shift
