Pros

The company is very diverse, so in the environmental/regulatory field there are a lot of opportunities to develop internal clients or clients from cross selling. I worked on a wide range of interesting projects.

Cons

The balanced leadership model and flat management structure (inexperienced junior mangers supervising large numbers of professionals) creates some gaps which result in an environment where office politics and blame/finger pointing thrive and collaboration is absent. Managers (project and operational) are overvalued whereas technical expertise is undervalued. This results in brain drain, low morale/engagement of technical staff, and poor quality work.

Pros

Pay is consistent and it is easy to look good here. Expectations are low and it is easy to stay busy.

Cons

Red tape. People keep leaving so there are opportunities to take more responsibilities but that does not come with more pay or promotions. Extremely toxic leadership. Every Business Center is responsible for their own revenue and has big growth goals, this causes each BC to hoard work. The IT Systems are outdated and so is their accounting system. Timesheets are painfully slow and take up too much time each week. Only take this job if you are desperate.

Pros

High salary, opportunities to work on different kinds of projects all over the U.S., some supportive supervisors, training opportunities

Cons

I believe most of my negative experiences are specific to the office I worked in. Unorganized leadership and structure, you are often independent and working on different projects from your peers in the office so there's no group cohesion and you typically only interact with PMs on projects. You don't have a defined role so they will typically put you on random tasks for projects where they need help. Healthcare benefits were awful. Unhealthy work culture (most people working >40 hours and mid to upper management has their entire calendar blocked off with calls). Most (not all) of management truly doesn't care about junior employee retention, and spends more of their time trying to acquire well-known senior staff than support their junior staff.
