Excellent corporate culture and community involvement. There are many events throughout the year to celebrate holidays, and employee milestones. There are days throughout the year where you’re paid to volunteer in the community. Your loyalty to the company is rewarded by management.

Cons

Compensation could be more competitive. Benefits have recently been slashed due to economic downturn and growth of employees in the company as a whole. Not a lot of room for growth within the company.

MWH is a globally-integrated community of committed professionals working on some of the most challenging projects. Collaboration occurs across operations and geographies. This creates career opportunities.

Cons

The long-standing employee ownership capitalization model constrained ability to pursue some project opportunities due either to capital limits or risk exposure. This is expected to change with Stantec.

Pros

The yearly review process is really good. They take it seriously. There are a lot of opportunities to do independent research & organize events in the office. They work to maintain an open, relaxed office culture. Flexible hours make planning the week really easy. Most employees work together, answer questions, and overall understand that the office is better when we teach and learn.

Cons

There can be staffing issues with specific projects where some employees have little to do and others are working long overtime. To compensate, people will sometimes be thrown on a project part time.
