      Pros

      I had a great team, and caring managers. I had the autonomy to make decisions. There are pockets of exceptional people.

      Cons

      New managers are hired/promoted based on BEE status instead of competence, leading to poorly-qualified leadership and demotivated staff. There are too many employees who coast along, adding no value to the organisation. Internal governance creates red-tape that slows down business processes. Performance appraisals are arbitrary, and seldom based on actual delivery.

      Wide Range of opportunities within the bank. Biggest Bank in Africa and so good exposure to the continent.

      Cons

      Very hierarchical culture. Not always open to new ideas / technologies / ways of thinking.
