Pros

It's a fast-paced environment where you con't look at the clock much. It's close to home, and the pay is decent.

Cons

I saw a manager make a customer cry once. They throw away about $300 of food a day that is not spoiled. They just don't want to stock some of it. They make fun of employees and customers that are Vegans right after smiling in their faces. They are no better than some backwoods small town Wal-Mart.

Pros

Pays better than other jobs involving grocery. The company hasn't yet to completely boom so there is still concern for employee well being. Definitely pays better than the big dogs (Tom Thumb, Kroger, Albertson's, etc). The work environment isn't too, too strict, but they're getting stricter.

Cons

Sometimes shifts can be short staffed and at these times the pace has to greatly accelerate. Sometimes there is also a gap between manager expectations and communication with the lower employees.

Pros

Pays a tad better than minimum wage, within a clean and safe environment. There is a pleasant camaraderie among team members. The 10% employee discount can be useful. And the corporate plans for aggressive new store development can potentially offer upward mobility.

Cons

The touted benefits for part-timers are merely the opportunity to purchase membership in a group health plan, and the cost, while lower than individual plans, still runs nearly $100 weekly for single persons. The 32 hour weekly average in order to obtain fully paid benefits means that store directors carefully jigger schedules so that very few part timers will be eligible. Performance reviews are similarly managed to conveniently avoid salary raises. "Human resources" are a commodity, despite lip service to the contrary.
