Pros

Great mission Work was exciting Short timelines provided greater personal growth

Cons

Very toxic teams (but this goes on a team-by-team basis) People who will throw you under the bus or go behind your back to look good to lead engineers. Toxic employees do not get scrutinized or punished as long as they don't treat engineering leads/directors poorly. Leads/directors generally do not care about this. Company encourages rude behvaior - get ready to be disrespected, yelled at, and treated poorly (purely due to an employee's mood) unless you constantly yell back or reciprocate toxic behavior. Most engineers are desensitized and do not notice when they are doing this. Many new grads eventually describe poor mental health and eventually switch companies due to this culture.

Pros

Most groundbreaking and competitive space company on the planet. Very advanced wide range of technology tools and processes. Incredible mission and extremely talented and hardworking individuals. Stocks perform very well. Clear technical vision, drive, and delivery of results from the company leadership. Elon and the executive team are brilliant visionaries with a very strong knowledge base on how to do things correctly. Incredible learning experience and sense of belonging. You might never have a better experience anywhere else.

Cons

Very stressful working environment. Can be very chaotic and unorganized at times in the name of being scrappy. Often this leads to less optimal solutions than a more organized approach. Some issues with toxicity from upper management - people are often expected to work unreasonable hours with no end in sight. Base salaries are non competitive. No matching 401k.
