      Pros

      Unlike many that may comment on their employment experience at SpaceX, I am a recent SpaceX hire but with 30 years industry experience. I find the energy at SpaceX familiar, the enthusiasm refreshing. Many hard working colleagues. Interesting, novel problems to solve. Visionary direction. Substantially more institutional patience than most companies. Willing to take some time and risks to service the long term goals. Immense flexibility and patience during my relocation process. Kudos.

      Cons

      Focus on every hire being a rock star has a price: positions go vacant for want of top candidates able and willing to take the position. Vacancies cause project delays.

      Intense and satisfying work. A focus on personal responsibility and results means you get to work with fantastic talented and motivated people.

      Cons

      Lack of organization can make for stress and some long hours. The higher you get in the organization the more chaotic and less trusting things get.
