Pros

Mission driven, the positive impact on the world via Starlink is clearly evident, and low cost launch has revolutionized the aerospace industry. It’s been extremely satisfying to have played a significant role in our progress to date and there’s so much more yet to do. It might seem cliché, though with our high standards for hiring, truly one of the best aspects of working here are the coworkers you get to work with. Nearly everyone I’ve worked with over many years has been driven, passionate, smart, trustworthy, and generally fun people to be around. You can do great work and always be learning.

Cons

You do end up working a lot, but often this is partly due to genuine interest/passion rather than being strictly required. So it’s important to make sure you enforce your boundaries and unplug when you can. We do tend to attract people that like working a lot, but you’ll need to find your own balance and strategies. It’s not a 40 hr/week type job (for salary), but it doesn’t need to be 80+ hours either.

Pros

Look, I'll be completely honest, I don't have much care for a "work-life balance" like people like to drill on about nowadays. With passion comes a willingness to compete, succeed, and innovate, and become good at whatever it is you want to do, and that takes time. SpaceX provides you with all the tools you need to succeed - I have never had any issues finding work to do, or receiving challenging engineering problems to solve. But with a lot of responsibility comes a high time committment. If you want this to be an average job, I'm sure you can make it that, but I also hope you know you won't be relied on too much, because this place is filled to the brim with people willing to put time, work, and a lot of hours into the most innovative and ground-breaking technologies happening in the space travel industry.

Cons

Sometimes they don't have vegan froyo. Also the vegan chick'n fajitas are pretty bad.

Pros

Every team member is focused and smart. They really know how to find and hire exceptional people. They will skip a much needed hire if the person can’t prove they are the best with past examples.

Cons

Sometimes the perception that everybody has to be working crazy hard causes more stress and anxiety then is needed. You can do a good job, get let’s of work done, and only work 40-45 hours a week. It has become almost expected that you make it seem like your working 60 hours just to keep up the perception.
