Pros

Some of the greatest and most hardworking people all working together to accomplish amazing feats under tight schedules. The amount of support you recieve from technicians, machinists, welders, and other support staff is astonishing. People will do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Cons

No matter the anount of work that you put in or what you accomplish. The ever shifting upper management will discard you if it prevents them from having to face the CEO. Snap judgements are made and people scarmble to place the blame. Schedules are unrealistic. Knowledge is lacking. Methods are questionable. Highly unprofessional upper management.

Pros

You get to build rockets. On-site food, medical, dental, coffee, store, and frozen yogurt. You get to tell people you work for SpaceX and that Elon Musk is your boss.

Cons

Yes, you get to build rockets but when the novelty wears off, the realization of the horrible work environment it is can be too much to bear for some. Underpaid, overqualified, and overworked. Extremely political and slow paced from a production standpoint. If you think you may be overqualified, you're probably right. The expectations or any sort of career roadmap of workers are non-existent. I've dealt with more drama at SpaceX than I did on the playground in 5th grade. The dishonesty amongst management and team members is ridiculous. Most employees have little to no integrity. Countless times I have heard the phrase, "You better look busy for the cameras." Then again, I suppose you should expect that in Hollywood. But if you do decide it's not for you and quit, don't worry some other poor sap will gladly fill your place with the same false hope you once had when you began. The cycle will continue, about every 6 months, because that's the average turnover rate.

Pros

SpaceX is doing amazing things! You feel like part of something cutting edge and remarkable.

Cons

-There are very few women or minorities. Diversity doesn't seem to matter to the company at all. If you aren't a white male, expect to routinely be the odd one out. -Communication style in the company is very aggressive. Expect to need to stand up for your self, worth, and ideas continuously and loudly. It can be quite uncomfortable, particularly if this is not your natural or preferred communication style. -There's a super strong cult-ish feeling to the work place. Everyone is focused on "the mission" and is willing to sacrifice anything to make it succeed. That's great, if those are sacrifices you are willing and able to make. But those sacrifices aren't optional, they are expected. Expect to work long hours (but not be paid for it). Expect to work weekends. Expect to have very little time or energy for outside activities or social life. -Employees are treated as 100% replaceable. They are not valued. Random firings lead to strong culture of fear where no one knows if they still have a job tomorrow.
