Management is elitist; supervisors and managers think they're God's gift to science. You're also pretty much stuck in place with no real hope of advancement based on performance. They might promote you a step up every 5 years.

They make a huge effort to maintain bad employees and don't care about the good ones. It doesn't matter how good you work, as long as you stay more than 2 years you're promoted to Specialist by increasing 200 euros in your payroll and a lot more of responsibility. You'll only grow if you spend more than a decade, speak French as native and agree with every crazy project they offer you even though it is non sense.
