Worst company on the planet!

Pros

Interaction with students, really nice and professional coworkers who do their best to fulfill their duties. Meeting new people, since the turnover is outrageous.

Cons

Overworked, impossible expectations, negative work environment. Wave after wave of management changes, each one worse than the last. Constantly threatened. HR does nothing to change the horrid treatment of workers, and retaliation by management is common. Management is not held accountable, everything is blamed on workers.

I'm very sorry to hear about this situation you have described. While it sounds like you're no longer an employee, I do want to let others know that if there are ever threats or retaliation, etc. I encourage you to reach out to the Sodexo Office of Employment Rights for further guidance, as this behavior is not condoned. Thank you for sharing this feedback.

Pros

A steady pay check at best; Financial pressures through the ACE initiative are nearly impossible to achieve. Most accounts have a mandatory contract re-bids, which is an awful experience to live through even of you are a high performer with excellent reviews.

Cons

Stress and long hours are a drastic understatement! Like every other large company; they preach "the value of employees" and their " work life balance" but really are only concerned about the budget and will require endless hours for weeks on end... or ax a manager to save a dollar at a moments notice. In-Unit HR is known for practicing sketchy practices to eliminate "unpopular" employees, or manager who don't fit in with the management regime. Upper management heavily micro-manages, which prevents productivity and actually eliminates the effectiveness of the Middle management team completely.

Pros

Great online resources, tools and networking for employees

Cons

Much of the positive culture of work-life balance and "a promise of respect and fair treatment" does NOT translate down to the front line accounts. Lots of talk and training, little done to hold leadership and mid-level management to practice what they preach. The lack of this connectivity results in poor management of staff and even worse service to customers.
