Pros

The pay and benefits are fairly decent for a food service company. My bosses treat me well, and are good about giving me time off. Typically when I need something that's necessary to do my job my managers are quick to respond. And the vast majority of the employees (managment and otherwise) are pretty easy to work with.

Cons

We are pretty overworked. It is not atypical on any given day for one person to do the work of three. There is very little opportunity for advancement, so I'm quite sure I do not have a long-term future at this company. Also, I'm embarassed about a lot of the food we serve because it is very unhealty, which is a characteristic of most large food service companies not just Sodexo. But, it is unsettling nonetheless.

Pros

The best reason to work for Sodexo is the vacation time. Managers Receive four weeks off per year. If you work on the corporate foodservice side, it is possible to have weekends off as well. Free Food.

Cons

Long work days, schedules not out in a timely manner. Depending on account, not much support in way of training. Managers receive very little hands-on training up front, thrown into the fire and must be able to learn on the fly. Too Much Paperwork, alot of time wasted filling out paperwork and conducting audits versus managing the business. A high staff turnover rate, which results in staffing challenges, and managers working positions, because staff members do not show up.

Pros

Can be left to work independently if you strive on that condition.

Cons

Promotions based on politics, not performance. Pay based on race/gender. Expected to work greater than 50 hrs per week on salary, and attend regular meetings (approx. monthly) in the evenings in addition to these hours. Meetings can be over an hour's drive w/no mileage paid, and be up to three hours long.
