Pros

As a marketer, I can't think of a place I would rather be. Having a passionate user base is incredibly rare, especially in b2b marketing. We're still early days and there's still so much opportunity to make an impact. You have an opportunity to define and build out programs for the first time. You get to work with a talented team of good people. Great work-life balance, benefits, and norms. Leadership cares about the team. You'll frequently hear Stewart say what keeps him up at night is the people and ensuring the wheels don't fall off. Yes we've faced growing pains, but some of the reviews posted here are not representative of most peoples' experiences. Amazing, inspiring new HQ that encourages creativity.

Cons

Growing the team >2x each year has led to some pain. We've hired some people who aren't a fit but we've also hired a lot of great people. Additionally, growth of some teams has far outpaced that of others, leading to some teams being incredibly strapped while others are blocked on work. There are still major gaps in many teams/departments while some roles are starting to overlap.

Pros

Slack's product and culture (outside of Salesforce influence) is second-to-none. The positive reception and enthusiasm end-users have for the product is super encouraging to see as an employee. After the Salesforce acquisition and Co-Founder/CEO Stewart Butterfield's departure, new CEO Lidiane Jones took the reigns, and she has exceeded my expectations for Stewart's replacement. She recognizes the unique value Slack & its culture brings to the table and seems to work to protect it.

Cons

Upon full integration post-acquisition by Salesforce, automated processes and tools that employees were accustomed to (and built as a result of our value prop/company outlook of automating any processes possible to increase efficiency and productivity) were replaced by old, antiquated tools and processes. I can no longer to the job I used to do. There's a lot of attrition and morale is low; leadership is also being replaced by old-guard Salesforce leaders.

Pros

Slack specific culutre is amazing, the people they hire are the most talented, very kind, fun and intelligent. Product is a fantastic one to sell and work with.

Cons

Salesforce culture has really damaged the Slack culture post acquisition. There are significant changes coming down from Salesforce that are forcing tenured reps out and making it a much less desirable place to work. It is the reason I'm leaving.
