Pros

- Lots of great, smart, hard working people at Slack. - Work on a product enterprise software users enjoy. - Competitive compensation plans.

Cons

- Very bad behaviour at the executive level (including CEO verbally assaulting employees in public Slack channels). - Highly political environment. The highest I've seen in Silicon Valley. (But people don't talk about it out of fear.) - No upward mobility (see highly political environment). - HR is there to protect executives/founders, not employees (but that's common). - High turnover in eng/product/design due to toxic work environment (so you will spend a lot of time interviewing to add to your team)

Pros

• Slack does Customer Experience right! We have a lot of freedom to do what is best for our users. This is a gem in the world of Customer Experience. • Great team and atmosphere, I work with a great lot of people, everyone's giving it 100%. • High-profile company, the product is amazing, and the benefits are very competitive.

Cons

• Don't be fooled by the no-blame, no-ego, we're-all-in-this-together approach. There is politics, like everywhere else. • The people at the very top of Customer Experience are control freaks. Their baby is growing up and they're having a hard time letting to. They are not receptive to disagreement, they get involved at a level they should not be and consistently undermine our managers. They don't know how to manage more structured organisation (or people it seems) and it can get messy and confusing.

Pros

Fast paced, most engineering work is figuring out how to get bigger. I have a lot of flexibility on what I will work on. Great benefits. I do not work with any jerks.

Cons

Growing pains: cramped space, confused managers. Can be high pressure depending on team. Dogmatically far-left-wing politics.
