Hostile work environment and unfair labor practices

If you want experience in working with industrialized cooking equipment and seeing how cater for large amounts of people, great.

Cons

Lack of support and training in Des Plaines, Illinois hot food Department. Contradicting chefs, racism is very much alive and hostile. Also they do not follow Federal food regulations well which is a liability and you get retaliated against if you speak out on it. Nepotism is contagious with x Gate Gourmet employees from the chefs to the drivers. HIGH TURN OVERS AND UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICES.

Pros

The only good thing was the free lunch everyday and that is a well known company worldwide, unfortunately, the Guam location taints the name.

Cons

Terrible workplace culture. Management does not listen to employees, and there is alot of nepotism. Many of the staff are underqualified for the positions but since they are somehow related, they were hired. Pay is incredibly low, barely above minimum wage for a position that deserves 2x the pay. Overtime is required including late nights and weekends. Parking is terrible and you might have to park far across the street in a very unsafe neighborhood.
