Pros

Siemens is an extremely large organization with an extensive portfolio. Hence if you have an interest in exploring different job opportunities based on region, product or responsibility this is a great place to work. The work culture is very dependent on the business unit but overall it is pretty good. The executive management has been pretty good and there are good leadership and development programs available for career growth and progression.

Cons

The biggest downside to working for Siemens Medical is the pay. It is not very competitive and hence it has to rely on work culture and fostering the Siemens spirit to retain employees. There is a pretty large middle management layer that is very conservative and on the experienced side. This invariably leads to limited opportunities for young professionals and innovation and this leads to frustration and loss of talented employees.

Pros

The diversity of the employees really reflects the global organization concept. At the same time, you feel like you are working for a smaller company when you are in the individual locations.

Cons

The organization is sometimes slow to make decisions because of the different steps that approvals have to go through.

Pros

The company has great benefits. Co-workers are friendly and willing to help with problems.

Cons

The company is far too process-oriented. There is a lot of red-tape for any action you would like to take. It is nearly impossible to get the Controllers to approve any money spent for internal projects. Engineers get 3-4 years of experience, then leave for competitors or operating companies, due to lack of advancement opportunities.
